Actually, this one is very good for my needs. There is no annual fee. There is no rewards limit. I pay off my balances in full. And I'm planning on going on a vacation to Jamaica in September which will cost me a little over $6,000. I have the cash already for that trip. But if I put it on the Amex, I will have nearly reached my $6,500 threshold in one fellow swoop!

Really, the reason why I was asking about transfers is because I wondered if I could utilize two cards to maximize my benefits (ie: book the vacation on a travel rewards credit card and then transfer it over to the Amex card). Apparently this won't work.

As for other cards... I used to have the Citi Dividend card when it gave back 5%. I got rid of it when they dropped me down to 2% (like many here at SD did). I also have the Chase Rewards card. That one gives me 5% on gas, groceries & pharmacies still. However, there is a $300 maximum rewards per year limit. I reach that in about 4 months. That is why the Amex is going to benefit me greatly!
