Thread Details

So, I posted this inside another thread and per several users request, I decided to start a separate thread. Anyway, read below for several really good deals on T-Mobile products and service...

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

Hey guys, I was just reading through this thread and like it a lot. I too signed up through the Microsoft deal and got a killer price on a T-Mobile device.

Something that I just found out though is that the phone number (866-464-8662) is actually T-Mobile's "business direct" line, which handles employee / friends&family programs.

Just so you know, the Microsoft deal isn't exclusive and is offered to employees and friends&family of other companies as well.

For example, my friend works for Time Warner and passed along his promo code (838TMOFAV). The Wing deal is available along with multiple others. Simply pick a device and ask them for the special pricing (waived activation and other promos apply).

Here are some examples of promos that they are currently running (as quoted to me by a T-Mobile rep on the phone today)...

Moto RAZR - One or two free after rebate w/ Bluetooth headset/s or car charger/s
BB Pearl (all five colors) - $49.99 after rebate w/ Bluetooth headset or car charger
T-Mo Sidekick - $49.99 after rebate
T-Mo Dash - $99.99 after rebate
BB Curve (w/ WiFi) - $149.99 after rebate

Happy shopping!!!

Do you have to sign up for new service or can you just extend?

If it is the same kind of deal for the Wing, then it requires signing up for a new line

Does this mean by calling that number and using the promo code I can buy a Sidekick or BB Pearl for just $50 or is that with a 2 year activation?

The problem is that the rebates are very sketchy. There is a chance that you will get charged back approx $250 if for some reason not all of the rebate terms are met. Many people have been burned by Lets Talk and Amazon. Just be careful if you go this route.

That being said, my MDA was bought through Amazon last year. Great phone, great price.

This (current post) would only be a great deal if you didn't have to add a new line.

The thing is, if you go through letstalk.com or amazon.com you have to deal with longer shipping times, more rebates to fill out, a 2 year contract, a must-have data plan, and an activation fee. I did this with the wing, and it was only $100 out of pocket with a $50 mail in rebate, no activation fee, a 1 year contract, no required data plan, and it came in the mail 2 days later with no shipping cost!. A very slick deal indeed. nod

Can you port from another carrier and get the deal? Since you opening a new account anyways?

After speaking with T-Mo, the deals are only for new lines of service (e.g. new line, new family plans, port from another carrier, etc...).

I asked about existing customer deals and they mentioned that if you've had your phone for more than 11-months, you should be eligible for "upgrade pricing". Not sure what that means, but they did sound like they would work with me. As expected though, T-Mo customer service seems top notch everytime I work with them...

In any event, if you happen to need a new line of service, this looks to be an incredible deal (assuming you fall into the friends and family category)...

Best of luck to everyone and happy shopping!!!
