Thread Details

This may stack well with TV deals, computer deals, etc.

In my citi account online for my Dividend Platinum Select Card under the "Special Offers" section, I found this:

"As a valued Citi« Dividend cardmember, you can earn 5% Cash Back* on purchases made at
Department, Electronics and Apparel Stores with your Citi Dividend Card for 3 months** once you
activate this offer."

Fine print:
"
Important Information:
*Earn up to 300 Dividend Dollars in a calendar year, payable in checks of at least $50 only upon your request. Dividend Dollars
earned through the Citi Bonus Cash Center are not subject to the calendar-year maximum accumulation. Additional terms and
conditions apply. For complete details, see the Citi Dividend Directory of Services.
**In order to qualify for this offer, your Citi Card must be open and you must not be in default under any card agreement that you
have with us at all times. Offer is valid for 3 months from the time you activate this offer on eligible purchases. Please note that
it may take up to 2 business days from when you activate your offer to start earning bonus cash back.
It may take one to three
billing statements for your bonus cash back to post to your card account after the promotion ends. If you have converted to
another card or your account is closed for any reason, you may no longer qualify for this offer. This offer does not apply to
returned purchases, convenience checks, fees, finance charges or card account fees.
Eligible purchases are those made at department stores, electronic stores or apparel stores. Department stores are defined as
large stand-alone merchants selling a general line of merchandise from departments that usually have separate check out
counters. Electronics stores are defined as merchants that sell or lease a wide variety of electronic goods, including computer
hardware, and may also sell parts or accessories for the repair, construction, or assembly of electronic equipment. Apparel
stores include: Men's and Boys' Clothing and Accessories Stores, Women's Ready-to-Wear Stores, Children's and Infants'
Wear Stores, Family Clothing Stores, Men's and Women's Clothing Stores, and are defined as merchants that sell clothing,
furnishings and accessories geared to a specific audience. Citi does not determine whether or not merchants classify purchases
as being made at Department, Apparel and Electronics stores, but Citi reserves the right to determine which purchases qualify.
If you already activated this offer, you are not eligible to enroll in this offer again.
"

UPDATE: ---- My bonus dividend dollars for a TV purchase (Olevia 47" BF deal... with 10% AAA and 10% Entertainment giftcard and this 5% on top of that Big Grin) from Circuit City.com in November have NOT shown up on my December statement. However, my purchases in December do show the bonus 4%. I Have called and the operator listened to the problem... said he checked the calculations and put in a dispute that I should hear back from by mail in 7 to 14 days.

There are 2 other confirmations near the end of the thread of December purchases showing the bonus.

When checking in account online if you have multiple cards with citi, be sure to select the dividend card.... since they've recently changed their Account Online, it's a little tricky. An easy way to select the card is click on the "Statement Balance" link for the Dividend card, then go to the "Manage My Account"->"Special Offers" drop-down menu.

To clarify/reiterate: if you have more than one eligible CitiCard, you must select for each card you wish this offer to apply to (as indicated above). IE: the offer appeared and was selected for my default card, appeared again when I selected my secondary card and, with both now selected, does not appear for either. (I keep two Citi Rewards Cards, so as to be able to continue to collect 1%-5% even as the $300/yr max is reached on one. Both cards are getting near that mark... it's been a good year... a reeeeally good year!)

The $300/yr cap on rewards for the card applies with this offer.

Wow! This actually shows up for me (and I NEVER get "good deals" on this card... at least after they modified the 5% Gas, Grocery, Drugstore campaign!). Thanks OP! Smilie

Glad I could help Smilie

Yeah, sucked when they dropped 5%... without any notice. (received notice about 4 months later). Was considering cancelling/consolidating the card but maybe i'll keep it around for offers like this.

Remember everyone,

You must register your Citibank dividends card with www.citicard.com in order to activate the promotion. The special promotion section is under the Manage Account menu bar that drops down. You will then get a pop window or a new window with this promotion ad/button being the first.

yummy
