CNN was discussing today Huckabee's newest commercial, in which he sits in a room with a Christmas tree and a large white cross behind him and talks about how the most important thing during this part of the year was to remember the birth of Christ.

Obviously, to all non-Christians (Muslims, Jews, Atheists, etc.), this is potentially very offensive, so the real question here is:

Do Christians on this board think this is too far to mix politics and religion?

I'm not Christian and I don't find it offensive.

Which implies that Christianity is the most important religion and that any other religions or creeds are less important.

The question for Christians is whether this was pushing religion too far into politics. Huckabee appears to be beginning to run on a platform of, "If Christians vote for me, I'll win." This may be the case, but makes me uncomfortable as a platform.

If he makes it the centerpiece of his campaign, I don't think it will be a good idea...but there are still alot of folks who believe in God in this country, just not in TP.

I've watched several of debates and I don't see him pushing the God thing on folks...

Any negative mention of religion in the context of a conservative will make him post those pictures. It's rather Pavlovian. I honestly believe there's a folder on his desktop with stock pics for such occasions.
