Request: Memory foam mattress (Tempurpedic style), consumer report review?
I'm looking for reviews of memory foam mattresses, I looked at tempurpedics this weekend, and frankly $2000 is just more than I care to spend, even ~$1000 for a used one seems a bit much when there are other products out there.
The bed I really liked was the tempurpedic classic, which the salesman told me was the firmest of their beds. I sleep on my stomach, and these made my back feel very good.
In doing a little research, I see that there are ALOT of other memory foam mattresses out there, they even sell them at costco, but I have no idea how they compare to tempurpedics, and which ones are the "best bang for the buck".
Does anyone have any experience with these? One issue I've heard they all tend to have is "breathability", some people get really hot at night because of the density of the material. One review I saw compared a product called "tempurflow", and stated that it felt similar to the tempurpedic, but felt much cooler (better breathing).
If there is a comprehensive consumer reports review of memory foam mattresses, I'd love to know which issue it is, so I can check it out.
Also, anyone knowing of "deals" on these would be appreciated, I've seen a number of craigslist ads for a "knock off" tempurpedic at cut rate prices, but it doesn't seem very reputable at all, as his ads are all over craigslist. Linked here: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see...95557.html
Then there are of course, no-name products, such as this:
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see...86305.html
The above is extremely attractive, but I have no idea how it will feel compared to the tempurpedic.
I also have no idea how all the components work together. For instance, with the one I linked to above, there are also "mattress toppers", would these be used in conjunction with a memory foam mattress? Would they make the mattress feel alot better?
