They are virtually identical. The 670 has a "commercial skip" button for DVR's.

I have both and the positioning of some of the buttons is different as well as the texture of the buttons. It's hard to describe unless you've personally felt both. Here are the layouts of both remotes though. The main difference is that the 670 moved the PVR / DVD / VCR buttons (play, forward, rewind, etc. near the channel up / down to make PVR devices easier to use.

Is there another word for it, 'cause I'm not seeing that button on either remote.

How does this 659 compare to the 550 that Amazon has for just 5 bucks more?

I've looked at reviews on Amazon and read the technical specs - doesn't seem like there's a clear winner. Slightly different button layout and body shape are the obvious differences, but I can't tell from the pictures which will have better "feel."

Nevermind - looks like the 659 has the FF button down at the bottom... not acceptable for DVR use.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "Live TV" button but if the Harmony does not map it out by default, you can map ANY key off a remote to it yourself through the configuration. For example, for some reason the Harmony did not recognize the OK button from my receiver's remote, so I made the Harmony learn it and mapped it to the Select / OK button of the Harmony. Sorry if that sounded a bit confusing.

I'm in for one

I've been keeping my eyes open for a Harmony deal. I just happened to set up the SD deal alert today

I have an old 628 that has 4 fewer buttons and it has worked for a PVR just fine when the buttons are custom programed. The whole point to a Harmony is customizing the thing really.

I'm in for one- repped.

I included a better detail of the buttons for reference.
