Thread Details

I got an email from MyPoints.com yesterday saying that they now had printable grocery coupons. When I checked into it, I found that they are getting the printable coupons through COUPONS.COM, but there's an added twist. You apparently get points for MyPoints if you print and use the coupons printed through mypoints.com.

http://www.mypoints.com/emp/u/cen...nCenter.vm

Here's the text from the web page:
  • Earn 10 Points for every coupon printed and redeemed!
  • Earn 25 Points every month you print and redeem 5 or more coupons!

I'm not sure how they are going to know that the coupon was printed from mypoints.com and link a redeemed coupon up to your mypoints account. The coupon didn't look any different from the one printed directly from coupons.com, but maybe there's something encoded in the bar code?

MyPoints.com requires registration. You earn points by various means: clicking through the site to purchase stuff from other websites, filling out surveys, reading email, etc.

The same email was waiting on me when I got home from work and I was curious as to the same thing so I printed one thru MP and one thru coupons.com.
The only differences are
1. coupons.com is printed @ the top of the page I got from c.com - nothing is on the MP c/o
2. The last 12 digits of the dot scans are different - they always are, that's how they know if copies are made - but maybe that # is how they know?

Everything else is identical. maybe they will give us credit just for printing them? You know, assuming we will use them?

Thanks for posting this info Laury. I did not see the message in my inbox yet, but I am sure I will soon. I have been a member of MyPoints for 2 or 3 years now, and it has definitely been worth it for me.

They send you e-mails from sponsors based on the interests you list in your profile. Most offers give you 5 points for clicking the link and visiting the site, and then added points if you register, purchase, request info, etc. etc. You can also do surveys to get points.

I rarely even pay attention to what the offers are. I just click the links and delete the e-mails. Once I accumulate enough points, I order a gift card for a store/restaurant that I frequent.

And I will certainly check their site first when I want to print a coupon. Smilie

I basically treat the surveys the same way. I select "Prefer Not To Answer" on the Race & Income type questions, and it quickly tells me that I did not qualify for the survey. I get the 5 or 10 points for not qualifying. I made the mistake a couple times of trying to answer all of their questions only not to qualify anyway. I would rather have the quick points with very little hassle. Smilie

Hmm ... I wonder if anyone pays attention, because I don't either. And I really get annoyed when I qualify for a survey and have to answer all those questions to get more points.

I remember seeing a semi-scolding email from MP one time that said you should pay attention so the MP clients continue to get qualified leads and continue to be MP clients so that we can continue to get offered the points.

See my above post on how not to qualify for the surveys. LMAO

good: an additional 50 points for signing up for weekly coupon emails (if you are already a member, they sent out an email offer for this on 4/6)

not so good: If you already reached your limit on a coupon directly from coupons.com, it shows as limit reached in mypoints.. bummer, I was going to get more excedrin q's

There is a 50 point message in my inbox from Mypoints, but I haven't got a chance to read it yet. I hope this is it. I will definitely pay closer attention when I log into hotmail tonight.

Secret the title/subject of the email that you're looking for is:

"Print coupons right from MyPoints.com‏"

All I had to do was click on the email's 50 point link.. it took me directly to mypoints.. where it took me directly to the coupons and automatically signed me up Whee
(I did have to enable cookies)..
My 50 points are "pending" on my account now Biggrin2

edit: and mypoints just sent me a confirmation email.. my, that was fast Biker

Thanks for reminding me to print from mypoints. I always forget, even though I've been a member there forever, it seems!

This deal has been going on for a long time, I signed up through MyPoints quite awhile ago and got my 50 points. But, now they have the link on the MyPoints website so you can go there and print the coupons easier. Now, if I can just remember to go there when I print them!
