Does anyone else think this shaker model is horribly ugly and impractical?? I got a similar deal ($1 more I believe) on a Sansa c240 and the sound is great but I just don't get these shakers.

It's designed for kids. It's like complaining about something Fisher Price made when you can get something made for older people for a little more. A 2 year old should be able to play with this easily, not so much with the C240.

Sony already had a music device similar to this in the works when the shaker was announced. It's called the Rolly. It does a lot more than this, but it does have the basic function of shaking to advance tracks. It costs a whole lot more too. I don't really see anyone copying this because it wasn't really a commercial success (hence the drastic price drop). The toddler demographic isn't too high

Nice find. Looks like a nice little, cheap mp3 player. The best part about it is it takes SD cards so you could add a 2gb card and have plenty of storage. I already have a cheap Colby one, but for this price this player is hard to pass up.

Don't even think about adding 2GB man.
You cannot choose songs or artists or albums with this one.
It is just random.
So if you put so much songs in it, it might not be possible to listen all.
And another problem is it is not rechargeable nor has adapter(optional).
So you better use it as it is with few songs. and it is really like a toy for children.
But I guess you will appreciate on this one since what you have now is Colby one.
I've been surprised to SanDisk mp3 players for their sound quality which I never expected from flash memory maker. I've been using 4 SanDisk MP3 Players for myself since the first model came out with mono display and video MP3 player and Clip which I currently use, it's all good and actually better than IPOD shuffle and video for myself since I don't like iTunes and I just like to use drag and drop with variety of free MP3 software.
