Restaurant.com [restaurant.com] is offering 60% off their already reduced restaurant certificates when you enter code LABOR at checkout. $25 certificates which normally sell for $10, are now $4. $10 certificates which are normally $4, are now $1.20 with the code. Thanks tahtee.

Getting a $25 GC for $4 is a good deal, despite the fact it happens every month doesn't make it any less of a good deal. But like I always post here, keep in mind these catches.

1. You are often required to spend $35 ( minus the $25 GC) = $10 oop
2. You are required to leave a 18% tip ( * $35) = $6.30 oop
3. 7% taxes (or more) = $2.45
4. The $4 you paid for a $25 GC

So you have to spend a bare minimum of $22.75 out of pocket total (plus alcohol). Of course if you didn't have the GC, your $35 dinner actually costs $44.91 (plus alcohol) so it's still a great deal for a good dinner for two, I just want you all to know the REAL expenses, it's not the free ride that it appears.

Like travisowens says this is GENERALLY the case. So just think that it is when you buy the certificate. But there are some that don't exclude alcohol (very few). Only rarely have I been charged the gratuity (but I tip 20% normally so it would be their lost).

BUT I would assume that everything he mentions is the case and you won't be disapppointed.. unless the food is crap but hey you got $25 off.

You're right, it's not a free ride... but it is an excellent discount! My husband and I use them to try out new restaurants, as well as our old favorites.

we used to use these coupons all the time, actually we still do sometimes, but the restaurant selection has gone down.

one of our favorite places to eat used to offer this coupon, and when we handed it to them the first time, they were confused, but accepted it. I think we used it one more time, and then they put up a copy of it on the door with the words VOID and WE DO NOT ACCEPT THIS COUPON.

The last 2 places I used these gift certificates included alcohol in the 35$ minimum.. Plus everyone I know usually tips 18% so adding it in makes things that much easier. In for a few!

how do I use this with an MCR code?

It says "Error: 0" when I try to use the code... I had a $25 certificate in my cart.

Just be aware that some restaurants have 2 different menus. The moment they hear you have a certificate, they will give you the higher price menu. I reported this problem to Restaurant.com but their customer service is crap, they are not there to help you...just my 2 cents.
