People keep asking why should I use this rather than my digital camera?
The flip compresses the video as its being recorded. Very few cameras do that. Every single digital camera I've owned over the last decade records to .AVI uncompressed. This means that you get about 8 to 10 min per GB on your digital camera versus the Flip 60 min for 1 GB. The other plus of this: you never have to fiddle with compressing the video before you email it.

not bad.
to those wondering.... those $30 'one-time-use' camcorders from Rite Aid/CVS/Duane Reade are an older version of these Flip cameras.... there are ways to 'hack' one for unlimited use (i've tried it), but the onboard flash memory was only 120MB or something.... too much fun with those cameras (after discounts, they were like $20)........ wish this deal came up earlier ;P BTW< coupon expires September 03.. or maybe up to a certian number of uses |

But honestly, this is some pretty awful titling for this thread. No wonder it was double posted. Doesn't either OP think it might be a good idea to mention the word *Dell* in their title?! "Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder $50" You have to be kidding. How 'bout "Dell F230W Flash Card Digital Camcorder $50" instead? I found this deal myself, then spent 10 minutes looking for previous posts, didn't find any UNTIL the very last second (almost missed it). Turns out only one mentioned Dell, and neither mentioned the model # F230W in the title.
