yup. agreed. it's a shame more people don't know about this program. if you get this, plus the free versions of:

lavasoft ad-aware
spybot search and destroy
spywareblaster
zone alarm

run the free software updates manually once per month, do a monthly scan with all of them, and remove the findings, you should never have an issue with your computer slowing down because of malicious software. and it'll only cost you $15 plus a little bit of TLC for your computer.

z0mg Nod32 FTW. It is the ONLY AV I use. I have deployed over 40 different contracts in financial institutions and have never used another product. Eset is the best, don't go for FAR norton or any other garbage. After using this for the first day you will wonder how you got by without it.

I payed 100 bucks for 2 years (and 2 users, so basically 25 bucks a year) for ESET Smart Security. Which is the NOD32 antivirus coupled with a firewall (email scanner? not sure if that is part of SS or NOD).

Anyway, best product I have ever used. Catches files proactively, rather than after they've run, and messed up your rig.

EDIT - I know everyone's a tech these days. And I'm young, and have worked for a year repairing computers, etc. When I first started, I thought AVG, Avast were just fine. I was introduced to ESET through a coworker, and I had my doubts at first. Never heard of it. I've 'never' paid for antivirus before, but this was worth every penny. Ever, single, cent.

NOD32 has been the best AV I've used. Buy it and you'll never go back to anything else.

Very unintrusive and a resource minimalist.
