I am really posting to see if anyone who has bought these has had a problem with them being a refurb, high failure rate or whatnot.

I have a bad refurb taste in my mouth and have recently developed the opinion that product with many refurbs just suck and that is why they have the refurbs to begin with.

anyone know about these. I know the device itself is top notch. Really interested in the premature issues from these refurbs.

The price had gone back to $250 or so. The $219 price hasn't been around for a few days.

I had the same trepidation about the refurb thing but after asking the same question in a few Dyson threads, the consensus seemed to be, "don't worry about it, the aftermarket support from Dyson is solid regardless of warranty status."

The price continues to go up and down. I figure Amazon has some sort of supply and demand scheme in their pricing. I picked one of these up when the deal was 199.99 about 2 months ago, and I was the poster of the original 219.99 deal that was reposted in the link you gave above. Aside from all my ranting, I've purchased one myself and one for my mother. I've used it at my home and my beach rental property with good results. Both have been solid machines with no problem. As stated in some of the other posts above me, they have solid warranty coverage regardless. If you're really worried, purchase it on your credit card and most give you a full year warranty (or atleast double the manufacturers warranty) I believe.

I've had a couple of Dyson Refurbs and both were great, like-new condition. I sent one back to get the full-kit (pretty nice attachments) and its been superb. If you are really worried about it, buy an extended squaretrade warranty, or get it on your AMEX who will double the manufactuer's warranty.

Damn dude...we must really think alike! PS BBAddict did have this post first, but I started the fad with the Dyson Ball Full Kit refurb at $245. Honestly I really don't care to much about getting credit, unless SD starts to compensate its members.

I bought a DC14 last week for $220.
Got it yesterday and did the first run.

This thing is indeed quieter than my DIRT DEVIL VISION TURBO.
Just moved into an apt of double the size and the old vac was too small.

The DC14 picked up lots of dirt, the old one did though too.
I like it so far. Well, let's talk about that in 2 month.
