just finished watching a commercial, that states that on Mondays throughout the summer, Mcdonalds will have their 6piece chicken nuggets for just $0.99!!! i dont know about you guys but it's about time!! :eat::drool2:

I was in Romania a month ago and they have apple and cherry pies there.

Now on the McNuggets, this is a good deal, but definitely ymmv. My local McDonald's rarely participate in these promotions.

But this month, they are running 2 Egg McMuffins for $2.50 and I love those, especially when ordered with extra toasty muffins! Yum-yum!!

And why is that? McDonald's is one of the healthiest fast food restaurants in the US. It's funny how people think because it's cheap and its a large branch that the food is unhealthy. McDonald's recieves so many lawsuits that they are forced to make their food healthy - and have been rated as more healthy in doing so. Heck, they have even been sued because their coffee burnt someone.

If you haven't been to Hawaii or Central/South America (may also be available elsewhere), where they have deep-fried apple pies, you haven't had a real McDonald's apple pie. Apparently, they used to deep-fry them in America until you health nuts ruined it for the rest of us, who can eat good food because we get off our butts and do physical activity once in a while. I can't eat their nasty baked pies anymore. I don't care how many you give me for a dollar.

Thanks for the needless rant! That's not why they switched to baking them. There's so much Crisco in the crust of the baked version that they still have the same fat as a fried pie. But they were really messing up the deep fryers, which already cook a hundred different things, so they switched to machines that can bake them. But it's cute that you thought McDonald's actually cared about health!

BTW, it's funny hearing everyone compare McDonald's and Wendy's as if one's the holy grail and the other is dog food. They both get their nuggets from the same company -- Tyson!

McDonalds apple pies suck terribly since they began baking them in the 1990s. Luckily White Castle, KFC, and apple pie king Popeye's all still fry those delicious bad boys. Personally I miss the old days of 20 McNuggets for $2.99. "Those were da daaaays".

No deal my McD... As a matter of fact, I got charged a $1.79 for a $1 Sweet Tea because I bought it with a meal.. Oh and if you want any extra condiments, you have to pay for them..

I agree for the most part. They seem to be much better quality. My 2-year-old will only eat Wendy's nuggets, too. However, I do like McD's Hot Mustard sauce, and sometimes crave it. But since Wendy's are better and cheaper, I just do without.

It probably has to do more with the YMMV than the price. I haven't seen it promoted where I live.

I remember when they switched to the baked apple pies, and the word going around was that they were healthier. I may be wrong, but I think they may have even promoted them that way. I miss the fried apple pies, though. Much better. Rally's/Checker's has about the best apple pies around, imo, but I haven't seen too many other places that have them around here. I do remember Druther's (which was a small fast-food chain in Kentucky, but sadly got bought out by Dairy Queen except for one that still exists) and their apple pies. They must have cooked them in the same oil as the fries as the fries would have a bit of the apple pie taste. They were yummy!

+100 and Wendy's is the type of place for a dollar menu warrior like myself. Although I don't mind micky d's chicken nuggets since I don't have them too often.

And both Mcdonalds and wendys are poor choices for food.. high in sodium and fats .. but man sometimes a nice greasy shitty cheeseburger and nuggets just hits the spot

It's funny that the Pedigree dog food thread was getting a lot of thumbs down because it was not a good product but this deal is at +21 when these McFrankennuggets are probabaly made from stuff not a whole lot better than by-products.

Goes to show that people love their pets more than they love themselves, and I'm guilty of it too, I eat off dollar menus on a regular basis and never glance at the ingredient list on it because I don't want to know (I'm sure it's bad), meanwhile I'm buying my dog duck or chicken jerky and roll ups at $9.99 /lb. and always make sure his dog food has high levels of glucosamine and chondroitan when I probably need that myself but I never buy supplements for myself.
