This is really competitive with the LG deal on the front page

SPVietBoy 08-07-2010 09:57 PM

u r correct as both systems seem to have about same ratings. They have different problems but none r too big, if u r a videophile or audiophile, these pretty much are not the ways to go. however, i'd say check out videos or in person, the quality of the sound and picture. the sony tv's however, seem to have more options as to wat u can do (check reviews) but the lg one does come wit more, like the mount and hdmi cord

iconian 08-07-2010 10:13 PM

I am not sure how good the audio system is, but seems at least average.

sideout 08-08-2010 06:22 AM

I really wanted a Sony deal too. Thanks! Just need to decide if I want to pop on it.

Costco has the KDL-46HX701 (with wifi adapter on the tv) and free home theator/bl combo for 1499!

msuchamps00 08-08-2010 07:37 AM

Oohhh. I ordered the 52 combo this week with the sony5 coupon for $1679. Really upsets me. This I a deal! Does anyone think they will credit me the difference???

batsonandrew 08-08-2010 07:46 AM

I work at sears and we were running the 46' for 1199.99 + Tax for the bundle and the 52' for 1599.99 + Tax and people could use their sears card and get an extra 10% off those prices. Sold over 5 bundles over the span of a week. I was thinking about getting in on this deal as we get 10% as our discount

HT Promotion Discount-549.99

No worries, I'll take care of you. Just PM me either your order # or the phone # you used.

Just to note we typically don't price match after the order has shipped because CE prices can literally change by the hour.

Thank you very much! I PM'd you.
I think this example answers the poster's question about the trustworthiness of the website.
A slick deal!!

Ordered 1 for a friend. Thumbs upppppppppppppp. Thanks OP.

Question for the USAppliances rep here, My friend lives in an apartment and i am shipping it there with Standard delivery. Do they call for scheduling the delivery ? Hope they dont leave the tv in the appartment entrance ?

SCtrojan 08-08-2010 11:27 AM

US Appliance is awesome for their CS! I purchased TV BD HT system combo last year, dealt with person named Jason (may be manager) and he was awesome. Gave instant bing discount and pmed the price with 6ave.... 40" KDL40W5100 and BD HT system for less than 900 bucks that time.... TV msrp was around 1000 else where!!!

mooklyn 08-08-2010 12:08 PM

Great Panels on comparison

Just looking at these at Best Buy. This series is great, especially for off axis and hi-glare situations. The screen is a matte finish instead of glossy, and has acceptable color from the side. When I walked back and forth along the back wall of BB, I always noticed these from a distance, noticing these as the best every time.

Once you get in front, it doesn't matter as much, but great picture there as well. I wish they didn't have that silver accent on the bottom, but whatever. Not cheap, so get one if they are similarly priced to comparable models.

Yes, all of the carriers we use will call to schedule a delivery timeframe within 24-48 hrs of delivery. Standard free delivery means they will unload it from the truck and will usually help bring it to the entrance. You would need to upgrade to white glove delivery if you needed it brought inside and unpacked.

Adult signature is also required so they would never just drop it at the entrance and leave.

As always, please remember to inspect the delivery carefully and even though rare, please note any and all damage to the box/unit to help us with our claim with the carrier who may have damaged it.

If damage is extensive and you don't feel comfortable, you can refuse delivery and contact us for a replacement.

Hope this helps.

just wanted to make sure since NY is the only state that requires online retailer to charge tax, not like we don't pay enough state income tax already..

That's pretty cool that US Appliance is on this thread.

Do you have a link to the combo deal at Sears? I have a store 2 miles form my house and a Sears card. Thanks

d'oh! missed out on the sears deal because of some jackassery with the reps in the local area and this would have been amazing, but no tax would have been even better.

Funny story...

I went to Best Buy which I don't usually like going to for deals and such...but I needed an HDTV and I've never had one before...the deal I got was out of this world.

I got the 46" LED KDL-46EX700, the Bluray Home Theater 5.1 1000Watt surround sound system, and Geek Squad Home Theater installation for setting up the speakers, tv, and up to 7 components, (I know how to do it, I'm just lazy)...AND they gave me a free 19" Dynex 720p HDTV. All for the price of:

$1711 AFTER TAXES! ... free shipping.

They gave me the Bluray HT system and the 19" TV on the spot. I get the rest of the stuff August 21st.

The TV itself is $1530 before taxes. So essentially, this was an INCREDIBLE deal I got. :D

comparing to what USAppliance is offering, you are basically paying $460 for the installation and the 19" TV, personally, I would go with the USAppliance deal.

Is there a way to get a deal on just the TV without the HT? I'm more interested in just getting the TV with a discounted price.
I just lost my TV to my wife (it turned into her computer monitor!) Need a new 50"+ TV.

Why don't you just get the HT system so it's free...and then sell the HT for like half the price or something...

Sears deal is quite competitive with similar free HT promotion and 12 months interest free with base price of $1199.99 for the 46'. I don't find the 10% discount though for using sears card though!

which deal is better this or the LG 47 inch with blu-ray, wifi, and mount? I don't really care for the mount but wifi would be an added advantage for about a 100 dollars less???

USAppliance Rep:

Can I have the TV and Blu-Ray HT System shipped to separate addresses?

hondaman82 08-08-2010 08:07 PM

Awesome, I went to Sears to get the same deal for $1199 and apply for the sears card to get 10% off, total after CA tax $1175, the HT system can easily dump on Craigslist for $300 bucks, so TV cost is $875. Great price for the 46" 120HZ LED Sony Brand. They didn't even charge the CA Recycling fee :)

EDIT:
SEARS in Westminster Mall in the OC

I went to BB today and showed the guy my iphone screen which had the deal on it. He said they wouldnt be able to PM. People were actually paying 1499 plus tax for basically the same deal. It was crazy....I showed him the LG deal also, nothing they can do he said. This was in Amherst, NY

Last year, I bought a Sony XBR and BR combo deal from US.App, the delivery people broke the box and nicked the TV. Not US.App's fault, but they reimbursed me a little for it. Still using the TV and BR player as we speak.

I got the TV + Bluray HT system at Best Buy. They were offering a free 19" HDTV as well, but you were only supposed to get either the Bluray system or the free TV. I had spoken to a chat representative on Best Buy's website and she said I could do both if I called and her supervisor would allow it. A second rep said it wasn't possible.

Long story short, I brought the first chat transcript saying I could get it to best buy (which I could have easily made up), and they gave me the free 19" TV as well.

eIplbe 08-09-2010 05:23 AM

I want to go to Sears tonight and check out what they have. Can someone who have bought a combo for a great price post their model numbers so I can look them up and see reiviews and also know what im looking for when I get there and I am not given just any tv.

thanks

I'm sorry for your experience. I am glad one of our customer service reps was able to work with you in giving you some money back.

When carriers damage product, it reflects badly on us. This is why we do our best to secure these units for transit. We band the HDTV vertically to it's own wooden pallet and then band the bundle item to the pallet as well.

I am glad you are still enjoying your XBR9 with home theater. That was a great deal we ran - the pricing was very similar to this.

turbulent 08-09-2010 08:58 AM

wow. this looks great. I might jump on this..

Herry29 08-09-2010 09:13 AM

Hi All,
I just bought this same combo deal before 2 weeks from US-appliance.
PQ of this TV is great even SD content looks nice on 52". And the BDV E570 HTIB is better then expected, it has WIFI adapter and with media server on PC you can watch play all ur music, vidoes and movies on TV.

I paid $1679 for 52". I should have waited for 2 weeks.

I would recommend US-appliance to anyone.Shipping was fast and easy.

Ohh well, they don't do 30 days price match.

The only stupid question is the one not asked :)

...and yes you may.

Is it a real pain if you have problems with the set and have to deal with US Appliance? I think Costco gives you an extra year of warranty and the convenience of going in the store when you have a problem and Best Buy gives you the year without credit interest when using a BB card...so I'm not sure which route is best for me (I don't have the cash at hand and will have to use credit)?

I cannot post any prices or deals on Slickdeals as that would be self-promotion and against the forum rules.

I am only here to provide support with questions or concerns related to our business or products.

I'm sure some fellow SDers could point you in the right direction!

The BDVE570 is 3D Compatible but the EX700 HDTV is not.

In other words, you could get 3D with the home theater but would need a 3D HDTV.

Hello USAppliance, I want to buy 52" tv but this is currently "out of stock". Is there any chance to have this deal again?

See my last post about this TV being replaced. However, that doesn't mean that similar promos won't run again because they typically do.

sunilhari 08-09-2010 07:39 PM

Great company.

Have nothing but good things to say about USAppliance - bought an Sony 46" XBR9 with 800W Blu-Ray home theater setup from them around Black Friday last year (another slickdeal).

Shipped me my TV and ... a Samsung 46" LED TV.

No blu-ray player. Called USAppliance to return the extra TV (i know, i'm an idiot) and they got me my Blu-Ray player, an extended warranty on the TV, and a couple HDMI cables. I'd buy again from them.

weird, they (bb) have the same deal on their own site.

If my gf didn't want to use her bb card I would just get it from us appliance, seems like the service is great.

BB has it for $1799 + tax.

As per Blue Ray specifications; it doesn't support all USB devices. Can't I play normal .avi files by using USB Flash drive?

USAppliance 08-10-2010 10:52 AM

Update

I only expect the KDL46EX700 to last maybe 4 - 5 more hours.

Sure thing, thanks for letting me know. I need to fit the tv in a bedroom, between to door jams so the 46" is pushing it. Thanks again, that is a great deal on a solid TV!

It doesn't support all USB devices because some iPod products don't work.

USB thumb drives will work fine.

I am unsure if it will play .AVI via the USB port because Sony's specifications don't list that filetype - meaning it may not.

I know it will support MPEG, Divx, MP3, AAC, WMA and JPEG.

You should have the order within 7 - 10 business days of ordering. Processing can take 2 - 3 business days and then 1 - 2 days to ship. This leaves an additional 5 business days for the carrier to deliver.

Navneet use PS3 Media Server Java based software. All your problem will be solved.
read forum on ps3mediaserver.org.

It looks like PS3mediaserver converts any type to media to mpeg. May be I'll able to run .avi files then. I'll test this. Thanks Herry :)

Sears was a no go for me - cancelled order

Sears.com had basically the same deal. They let me order last night, then called today to say they couldn't get the HTIB at all. They offered me a Panasonic SC-BT330 HTIB instead, but the reviews weren't stellar. They said I could have the tv at the price without the HTIB, which is a ridiculous offer. Ended up cancelling.

I know these BDVE570's are stretched thin for this promo nationwide. We had to have Sony expedite a shipment for some of these orders since it sold so well at both our B&M stores and online. Thankfully, they were being held in Chicago and were loaded on the carrier today. We're only 5 hours from Chicago so we're in good shape. However, Sony did say that many retailers were out of luck and weren't going to get more soon.

Unfortunately, these models have sold out.

Similar promotions always run again but I can't post any deals on these forums myself.

Sorry you missed it. The great thing about Slickdeals is that there's always another great deal around the corner!

No, orders are not being cancelled.

The remaining BDVE570's we were waiting for are being unloaded in the warehouse as I type this. Most orders are shipping today. Look for tracking info by this afternoon.

I finally received an email yesterday and it was to let me know that my order was on hold because my billing address didnt match my shipping address. Just bought a house a few months back and forgot about that address change..

The wife called in today to change the address on the card, and called US appliances to let them know. She was told id be sent an email with a status.

Does it take long to charge the order and verify with the bank?

damn it!

It shouldn't. Obviously we have to make sure the address matches because a lot of fraud happens that way.

Can you PM me your order #, confirmation # or phone #? I will see what I can do to expedite.

You order's already been processed so you're still gonna get your TV/HTiB package. No worries.

Enjoy your new Home Theater and HDTV.

Glad I waited little while and got this TV from DELL. I call Dell rep to waive the taxes and he gave me $50.00 additional credit instead of waving the taxes. Finally I paid $1324.99 including taxes (with out Home theater).

unixphone 08-18-2010 04:06 PM

I have some questions on the Wifi Ready.

Is it really true that the tv will only work with the Sony USB wifi adapter? Can I just buy some random pc USB wifi adapter?
The Home Theater is Wifi Ready as well. So, I need to buy another USB wifi adapter?

Im not certain, but i dont think you can use just any $20 usb wifi adapter. My friend owns an LG and he tried an airlink adapter which didnt work. LG adapter also runs about the same as the sony ($90 mark).

As for the Home Theater, I believe you only need the one USB stick and plug it into the Theater system, which will run back into the TV. I dont think you need 2 USB adapters. The theater system also has Netflix app integrated i think

About the same deal but you don't have to go through the hassle of selling the blu-ray / home theater system. This deal is better if you don't get the $50 credit IMO.

Are you sure about that? I just got my stuff yesterday (:bounce:), but it seems like only the system w/ the wifi dongle had a connection. Had both connected via hdmi as well.

turbulent 08-23-2010 03:40 PM

I get my order tomorrow!!

So, for those who got it now, what do you think so far? Sound, image? size?

details...details...lol

unixphone 08-23-2010 06:35 PM

mine came days ago.
I only checked the physical condition because I am moving to a new house in 2 weeks.
I will setup the tv and ht after i moved in.

turbulent 08-25-2010 02:19 PM

well, received my stuff yesterday.

I didnt know the delivery guys only dropped the stuff at the curb, but the delivery guy, whom i spoke to over the phone (i was at work) was nice enough to carry it inside, unpackage it, and have my Mom inspect it. (something i believe is an extra charge).

Got home and set it up. Didnt really have a lot of time to play with it. Did setup the wireless USB and registered my tv for netflix. setup the htib but without the rear speakers and it sounded nice for my family room.

im planning to go get a blu ray disc tonight and maybe test out the player. My stupid cable box is old so i have component cables and the HD images were nice to see. SD content wasnt too bad, but its 480i at best..

Overall happy and looking forward to my weekend of cutting through dry wall and running some speaker cables..lol

I setup the USB adapter to the TV and was able to stream and play sound from the Home Theater System. So only 1 USB needed.
