ASUS G73 JH-X1 for $1449

ASUS G Series G73JH-X1 NoteBook Intel Core i7 720QM(1.60GHz) 17.3" 8GB Memory 500GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 @ Newegg

I'm sure this beast of laptop needs no introduction, if you're in the market for it, you know what it can do. And before anyone asks, yes it will destroy SC2 on ultra everything.

Anyways I have been following this units price for months now. I believe this is the best price this laptop has been since Newegg first introduced it and outside of any BCB deals.

Best buy sells the stripped down model with a lower resolution and 2gb less ram for $1299+tax which nets out apx the same price. I even tried to order the BB unit at Cowboom for $899+tax but got paranoid and canceled the order.

Additionally i ordered through fatwallet and this will net you a 2% CB.. and for those who choose to open a Newegg CC, you can recieve $15 off along with 12 mo no interest.

Enjoy! :bounce:

The design on this Asus model is stellar.
Dual fans is key when you are looking for a gaming lappy.

I saw this in BB the other day and I can agree that it is a beast.

It has been that price since the release in February... http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/1...ts-the-us/

if you had bothered to look into the matter - http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=494314&t=1858357, from post#18

you would know that was only a introductory price that lasted not even a day.. and it has not been that price since or anywhere else.

JW version coming out with a rumored GTX460M with 1.5gigs of Vmem - which people are saying will be less powerful and use more wattage than the 5870......so this is a good price I'd say.

Is the G73jh-A1 at amazon a better deal for CA residents? They seem identical. Nice find , i'm in the market for one of these.

That's a good deal if you are in the market.
The only difference I see is 500GB more for $100.

Does egg charge you guys tax?

That is a nice detailed site.
BTW, the amazon deal is now better since the egg price went back up.

What was the difference between the amazon model and the cowboom model? Aside from the massive price difference and refurbished tag.

rawfulmao 08-28-2010 11:19 AM

The 15.6" G51JX-A1 on amazon [amazon.com] is $1,299.99 after rebate, and the only differences are 6gb memory instead of 8gb, and a GTS 360m instead of the HD 5870.

it has been selling on tigerdirect for $1550 for months, and when Bing Cash Back was still available, you can get this for about $1300 after BCB
