Costco - 100 37-cent stamps for $36.75
 

Hey, it's not everyday you see discounted USPS stamps. :D

I saw them, 25C discount is not that great, prob. that car trip to get to Costco used 25C worth of gas.

you have to buy 100 stamps to save 1/4 of a penny on each stamp??-- thats less than 1% off-- ive never seen a 1% off "sale" posted as a hot deal-- this is definitely a first

that works out to an amazing 0.676% discount. :) OP is right though... stamps dont go on "sale"

I'd say that's a loss leader for Costco.

Myth. Not actually true. Many retailers do this. Safeway sells them at discount also.

Sometimes Fred Meyer sells a coupon booklet that comes with a book of stamps in it for about a dollar off the normal price of a book of stamps. Not sure if they are doing that right now though.

Who sends letters these days anyway? It would take me 2 years to use 100 stamps, so my savings would be 12 cents/year. :yuk:

Emailed USPS a few years back and they said a stamp can be sold for a lower or higher price.

The Fred Meyer Stamp Booklet deal they have sometimes is a much better deal. A stampbook of 20 stamps cost only $6.59 plus you got manuf. coupons as well.

If I were the buyer I would ask to use 3 stamps to mail the rest. Who on earth pays $10 for shipping... LOL

Why are people giving this a thumbs down? A lot of people use stamps. A lot of people go to CostCo.

If you need stamps, and you happen to be at CostCo, it's nice to know you can also get stamps while you are there, and not pay extra.

1) It has nothing to do with computers.

2) There aren't any rebates associated with this deal. Everyone loves rebates. ;)

:cool: before I finish using the 100 stamps, the minimum postage is probably gonna go up by atleast a penny. I would have to then go buy more stamps... to make sure i meet minimum postage

I hardly think that this is a blockbuster deal that you need to bang down costco's door. An interesting aside that US postage stamps are concidered legal tender and can be used as cash (legally), but since nobody has done this since the 1800's you probably can't use this to get some free money.

LOL actually, I've had a couple of people use stamps for change at work!

This costco deal would have been much better at $36.63.

Since you won't be able to use 100 stamps (at most slickdealers would use 50 for rebates) before the prices go up, you can buy them and use your partially free stamp to mail 49 back to another slickdealer. YOU CAN'T LOSE!!!

Hey I think this is still a good deal for people that use alot of stamps. I mail a ton of stuff for my business and this beats the hell out of standing in line at my local post office for 20 mins just to buy stamps. And I save 25 cents as well :) For all those worried about the price of stamps going up before you use them and are too lazy to put on an extra 1 cent stamp simply return the remaining stamps for a refund.

Just saw my local Costco is now also selling discounted movie tickets as well.....$6.69 per ticket good for any session at 3 of my local movie chains. Normally costs me $8.99 at the theater. And if anyone is worried about wasting gas to get to costco they also sell that for cheap! I love my costco!!!!!!

If you were serious about using thousands of stamps, you can get a self meter from the USPS and save money that way.

Uh....how about no! I work for Safeway as a cashier, and ring up stamps all day long. They're under SKU#: 22071 (thats checker talk). They cost $7.40, no tax for TWENTY 37cent US POSTAGE STAMPS.

Now lets do some community college math:

0.37 x 20 = $7.40.

My goodness, we're selling them at face value, no profit for us! I must alert higher management! :lol:

The beauty is that in the econmy of scale, that if you buy the sames with your Costco American Express (2% back) and your Costco Card, another 2%.

thats an additional 4% off the $36.75

I won't do the math here, but imagine the saving potential if you bought 3,000 100 packs! Well over $750 (with Amex/Costco Exec)

Nope. On the signs that advertise the stamps, it states that the stamps are not eligable for any of the Costco rebate programs. Same with gas.

I just photocopy my stamps and gluestick them on - much slicker and haven't been busted despite doing this for 3 years now.
