WIsh they had speakers on sale... I already have a receiver and it seems to be a pain in the rear to find a good deal for speakers

It is crazy that it would be cheaper to buy a HTIB system with speakers & receiver than to buy the speakers only...

I got the S590 about a month ago and it is great. The subwoofer was a little dirty, but everything else looked brand new.

Bundles are cheaper because the quality is not as high.. and you might not get the features you want from the receiver.
For instance, number and kinds of inputs, number of outputs and conversion between formats (e.g. upconverting s-video to component video), and so on..
You're not likely to get any of these in a cheap bundle receiver.

Also, did you notice the $2,000 speakers on their site? THAT is crazy

I bought a refurbished Onkyo HTIB awhile back and I love it. Zero problems. The receiver had a sticker on it which read "refurbished due to cosmetic defects".

Be sure to play with the subwoofer crossover setting on the receiver once you get it all setup so you can get the bass where you want it. Don't just crank up the volume on the sub and then wonder why the bass still isn't loud enough for you. Plan to throw away the speaker wire that comes inside the box, it's CRAP. Plan to buy a better remote too as the Onkyo remotes are rather lame with many small identically shaped buttons which are difficult to pick out in dim lighting. Get a Logitech Harmony series remote and better cables and prepare to be impressed.
