If just using it as a USB hard drive, I believe you're right (except see mike105's post below). The compatibility issues appear to be with the wireless access and remote access. The MioNet software is not compatible with Vista, any MAC OS, or any Linux OS [mionet.com].

Note my source for the Vista incompatibility [extremetech.com] is a review of the 1TB version. For XP users this actually looks pretty cool.

Buyers beware. As far as I know, you can't use USB to connect this to your computer. You have to use it over the network. The USB port is for adding an ADDITONAL usb drive, such as another HDD, flash drive etc. If you don;t mind using it over the network then go ahead and get it, but I prefer the "regular" edition with USB 2.0 and FireWire.

Estimated ship date is 8/29....ugh.

$369.03 after 10% off (adding $5 to the price for the coupon cost) and NYS tax...
