Samsung 71 series 120hz LCD TVs Price Drops at Frys-LNT4671F $1799
Sorry, don't know if this is a repost, it was hard to search for a specific thread

I was at Frys tonight, and I have been watching prices on the 120hz tvs. I noticed that the prices on the Samsung LNT4671F and LNT5271F have dropped, they were now $1799 (46') and $2099 (52'). I asked the associate if they were on sale, he said these models as well as the 81 series are being discontinued because they were replaced by a newer model (probably the A650 but I think that one already has a replacement coming as well?). He said they had only 2 left of the 52' and 8 left of the 46' (San Diego Frys). It's at Frys.com for $1799 too LNT4671 [outpost.com] but says it is sold out, so it is probably nationwide?

EDIT: When you click on the above link for Frys.com, it takes you to the LNT4671F page and says it is sold out, but when you click "add to cart", the 46A650 is added to your cart, and says "item is sold out". Weird.

The LNT4671F is still $2099 at Amazon.com, the LNT5271F is $2299, but there is no tax at Amazon, and you get the free upconverting DVD player.

Pricegrabber lowest for LNT4671F is $1999 [pricegrabber.com]

Very sexy price on the 4671. I sure wish I had a little extra scratch right now. I would be all over this. Very nice, OP.

I almost buy this LNT4671F at Fry's for the same price until the sale associate told me this model is an discontinued one.

I end up getting the LN46A550 for $1599 after $100 off coupon + tax at circuit city and the Init Espresso Wood and Glass Stand at BB for $149.99 + tax

Don't pay for the 4071 at this price. If this is a price drop, then it will occasionally pop up on sale at a lower price every few weeks. It has been at lower prices than this, and that was from October-December (that I remember).

I paid $1699 + tax and shipping at frys.com in October when it was first released.

When I was there I watched both tvs playing the demos....the 46' looked very nice, clear, bright, sharp and colorful showing some DiscoveryHD stuff. The 52' was playing Pirates of the Caribbean 3 on Blu-Ray but it surprising looked unimpressive, I fiddled with all the settings to try to optimize it, the 120hz on high was amazing as always, but the contrast and coloring looked really dingy. I don't know if it was the movie, but even the sunny outdoor scenes came out looking dull and discolored. There was some evident ghosting as well. I just couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.

I have the 4071 and its great.Got it for $1800.Bought it at BB only because of the 36month no interest and the $100 rebate and Rewardzone that got me another $100+.This was last February.IF i had waited i would have gotten the newer models but for a few hundred more than what i paid for this baby.
Overall the LNTxx71 series is a great buy.Cheaper than SONY's but just as great.Ghosting and some stutter can be fixed with some firmware upgrade.I have not upgraded mine but its still awesome with HD content. My only issue is with Standard Definition Channels, some of them are just horrible to watch. But then again,it could be a matter of just a calibration issue.

Dont forget to visit AVS forums and get inputs from other users about the Samsung line. The newer models that are comparable to the 71 series is pretty hot with its red lighting.

Nice find!

The 71 series and the Sony XBR are pretty much the highest end when coming to LCD TVs. I have been looking for some time now and the two are amazing. Just like high end sports cars there are issues as well. They are built top perform at the high end of the spectrum, and that is why I was also unimpressed with the SD. If you are watching a 1080p movie from Blue Ray, I doubt you will find a better set than the 71, without going to much more expensive Kuro or such. While visiting friend in San Diego I saw the Frys you mentioned and was jealous that they have one in close proximity to their house. I would jump on it if I didn't already now fall in love with the Pioneer KURO! OOOOOOH, look at them if you got a few extra grand lying around!

That was the best way EVER to prove a point without meaning to prove a point! lol

Great find! step 1) find deal; step 2) find cash...oh..dang

Hope they drop lower soon, but might be sign of a new line? or LED's gonna drop?

I really wanted this TV and paid 2400 @ CC on Black Friday. I haven't seen the 4671 drop below this until now.

This is a deal and an excellent TV @ that price point.
