UNLOCK SUNROCKET GIZMO: New METHOD
After Teleblend took over Sunrocket's servers, you may find that the old passwords no longer work as of July 29th. There is a new method to DIRECTLY set the password on your GIZMO.
Innomedia devices from sunrocket come with snmp enabled. The community strings is private. The admin password OID is
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.3354.1.3.1.1.3.2.0
FOR WINDOWS USERS:
Download GETIF from http://www.wtcs.org/snmp4tpc/getif.htm
1 - After you start the tool enter the IP address of you device in Host Name field
2 - Change the Read community to private (default is public)
3 - Click on start
4 - click on MBrowser tab
5 - St the bottom of the window you will see 3 fields that you can enter values in. The first field is the OID enter .1.3.6.1.4.1.3354.1.3.1.1.3.2.0
The second field is the type. Change it to string
the 3rd field is the value. Enter any value you want (That's the new password).
6 - Click on the set button
Make sure:
1. Firewall is NOT blocking port 161. Be sure to enable that port.
2. Be sure WAN is connected to internet connection, LAN directly to the machine you are trying to SNMP from.
3. Browse to http://192.168.251.1/Voice_adminPage.htm
and use admin and the password you just set!
FOR LINUX USERS:
snmpset -v 2c -c private SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.3354.1.3.1.1.3.2.0 s newpassword
Then you can use telnet login with your new password.
This has been thoroughly tested on the MTA6328-2Re.
Many use it in order to go with another VoIP company or, some want FREE phone service as explained:
First, I signed up for the Gizmo Project at »www.gizmoproject.com, which is free. That gives you a SIP account, which is the protocol VOIP phones use. Basically, it allows you to chat with other online instant messengers, but it also has SIP capabilities.
Then, I configured my gizmo with the Gizmo Project servers since the gizmo uses the SIP protocol to communicate.
http://support.gizmoproject.com/i...ls&_i=8 8
Then, I configured Grand Central to forward all my calls to my Gizmo Project account.
http://blog.grandcentral.com/?p=72
Then, I configured my Sunrocket account to forward all calls to my Grand Central number.
Now, when people call either my old Sunrocket number or my new Grand Central number, it goes to my gizmo, which rings my normal home phone. All incoming calls are free.
If I want to make an outgoing call, I can either pay $0.019 per minute, or I can do it for free (only during Grand Central's beta period) by going to my Grand Central account and adding someone to my address book and clicking the "call" button. This makes Grand Central call the person and calls my phone to connect the two, so it counts as an incoming call. So, I can make all outgoing calls for free.
If Sunrocket goes dead, you may still use a Grandcentral number (if you are not switching to another VoIP and want free incoming calls ONLY):
In a nutshell, I've unlocked my SunRocket Gizmo (I have the Innomedia, but this should also work with the others), hooked it up to the Gizmo Project SIP server, and added the Gizmo Project number to my GrandCentral account.
I post the necessary steps below hoping others might find them useful. (Note: GrandCentral is currently an invitation only beta, but invites are available from various sources. A quick Google search should reveal at least a few. Ebay is another option.)
Step 1) Unlock your SunRocket Gizmo. (as above)
Step 2) Reconfigure your SunRocket Gizmo.
Step 2a) Disable Provisioning. SunRocket isn't around any more, but we still don't want their server resetting our changes. Go to IP Network->Provisioning Setting. Uncheck the Enable Provisioning check box. Click Save & Reboot. Wait for the device to come back.
Step 2b) Change your SIP Proxy. Go to VoIP->SIP Proxy. Use the following settings:
http://bp2.blogger.com/_cTgMyFrhG...ttings.JPG
(Note: The value for SIP Domain which is cut off in the image is proxy01.sipphone.com.) Click Save.
Step 2c) Change your User Account. Go to VoIP->User Account. Use the following settings using your own Gizmo Project phone number with the leading 1 as the User ID, User Name, and Authentication ID and your Gizmo Project password as the User Password and Confirm Password:
http://bp1.blogger.com/_cTgMyFrhG...ttings.JPG
Step 2d) Forward ports if necessary. Depending on your particular network configuration, you may need to forward ports. If your SunRocket Gizmo is connected directly to your modem or if it is in a DMZ behind whatever is connected to your modem, you can skip this step. Otherwise, do what ever magic is necessary on your network to forward UDP ports 5004, 5005, and 64064 to your SunRocket Gizmo.
Step 2e) Reboot your Gizmo. Go to Management->Reboot on the control panel or simply unplug and reconnect the power cable.
Step 2f) Make sure everything is working so far. Once the Gizmo comes back, go to Information->Register Status & Critical Messages. Line one should have a green box with the word Registered below it. If not, make sure you followed the steps above correctly. If the line is registered, you may now attempt an outgoing phone call to a land line (if you have sufficient Call Out credits with the Gizmo Project) or to any Gizmo Project number.
Step 3) Add your Gizmo Project number to GrandCentral. The smart engineers at GrandCentral have made this step so easy, it requires no directions. Gizmo is one of the phone types you can add to your account just like Cell, Home, and Work. If you already pay for a Gizmo Project Call In number this step is not strictly necessary, but GrandCentral does provide some additional cool features.
