Is it possible to save a streaming video??

Hmmm, the only way I could think of is find the url of the movie, like www.casshern.com/trailer.mpg and use a download program like Getright where you can enter a URL to download. So you'd just copy and paste it into Getright and it should just start to download.

Look for the file in your temporary internet files. I know QT stores them there, not sure about Windows Media or Real though.

Most of the time if you have quicktime 6 professional, ($30 from apple) you can save the stream as a quicktime movie.

There is also such thing as Windows Media Recorder (free), which can emulate WMP, and fool the stream into thinking it's sending the movie to WMP, and instead save it on the HDD.

Nothing like that for Real Media.

There is software for real media(I am not sure on latest real media file format but I did it when it was v6 or 7) and other media. I just have to dig up where it is.

same question about audio... I have Audigy 2 ZS Platinum that I recently installed but have not had a chance to play with the software. I'm fairly certain there is software to record streaming audio with this card. My question: If I record a sizeable mp3 or wma file to my HD, is there editing software out there that will allow me to break it up into many smaller mp3s or WMA files?

Streaming media formats change all the time, I have used StreamBox VCR program to download some streaming media some time ago. Than there was another program that I have forgot. I don't know if they will still work, but if you really want, have some knowledge and the tools, chances are that yes you can.

One thing I found that works is this:
1) Set IE to open any media in WMP
2) Right clicking HAS to be enabled on the streaming video.
3) Open up an IE window to a blank page
4) Right click the streaming video and select "properties"
5)Copy the URL and paste it into the address bar of your other IE window(the one from step 3)
6) Wait until it finishes downloading and save it as: whatever and where-ever you want.

Is there any way of copying any music file which can be heard only online to your hard disk? The files I am refering to opens through windows media player.
