op: how do you know it's a lifetime warranty?
even if it is a lifetime warranty, creative is such a bitch when it comes to warranty.
they tried to tack on a "diagnostic fee" ($25) when i sent in my player (which died a month before the warranty was going to expire) just so they could look at it.

It'll probably work better with XP since Creative is lazy when it comes to updating drivers for Vista. But the only way to find out is by actually installing it with Vista yourself, ...or maybe, peharps, find a user who installed it on their Vista machine and get their input (google a user review?).

Just check the creative site for driver downloads for this model. I did, and yes, Vista is good, 64bit & 32bit.

The 5.25" front panel doesn't say FATAL1TY EDITION in the top right, unlike the one in your link. Just an observation.

I have Vista x64 and I use a X-Fi Fatal1ty Platinum FPS. I have also previously used it on a XP OS and it runs fine on both.
However I have not fully tested the software on the Vista machine since I only have the bare minimum software. I refuse to install Creative's main software they want you to download since it takes up a lot of resources and slows the computer down. Even though the hardware is great, the software is only decent.
This is a good deal for a sound card + front I/O console.

Other notes (below): Since this product is a refurbished product I looked into that a bit more.
From what they say on their website I cannot determine if a retail box is included or if it is some generic box. It also mentions something about it not including all of the original retail contents. This is quite alarming since a refurb item usually always has all of the contents a retail product would have.
I also wonder if the warranty will cover the missing contents if there are any missing.
Many manufacturers say things like the item has been refurbed to brand new condition or it has been tested to be working... However from experience refurbs have a much higher failure rate, do creative refurbs have a good or bad track record?
