Does it require x years of contract? Does it include receivers for up to 4 rooms or is that extra? Do we get to keep the receiver at the end of the contract or is it rental?

When trying to sign up for this, using Top 200, I don't see any option to get the 5 movie channels for a penny. Am I doing something wrong?

This is a good deal but it isn't all that special. I got the same deal in January of this year. They don't always advertize all of these deals together but they are pretty much always there. The .01 movie deal has been around for years, just requires a call to dish to go paperless and request if after you have your install. Also, this particular deal works for current customers as well.

on the phone with charter cable right now. joel seems nice. and is seeing what he can do for me
EDIT: off the phone now. got this deal: free starz shotime hbo cinemax and moviez channel (1 year) free hd service for one year free hd dvr and from 5 meg internet to 10 meg internet same price as i was paying for one full year and no contract like dish. (thats pretty good i guess i was already getting a ten dollar credit a month for a signup promotion last year and he left that on there for me) EDIT AGAIN: Showtime channel wasnt working so i called back and they said they left it off and it would be 11 dollars more a month. That made me furious. talked to 4 sales reps, 1 retention line associate and 1 supervisor since then. Issue still not resolved. Called back again to get corporate number and some employee ID numbers and spoke to ed who sent an email to the original guy joel. Expecting a call back tommorow after 10am but before 6pm. Its turned into a long process but im going to get my promised price. Here's what ive gone from though. i was paying 64.92 a month for basic digital cable in two rooms and 5 meg interenet. got off the phone and got basic cable plus movie channel shotime hbo and cinemax all the HD channels dvr service and a free hd dvr plus upgraded to the 10meg internet for the same price according (64.92) to joel. wanst done right though. and am currently in the billing system as 76.92 a month (not bad truthfully im just mad they lied) hopefully i'll get a call back or go through corporate and get it all for the 64.92 a month (and all this is guaranteed for a year, then it goes up to 197.92 a month according to them) Last edited by freakincrazy; 07-14-2008 at 10:29 PM.. |

I still don't think it's worth it for me to stay with Charter. I only have a few hd channels with them.
Discovery History Universal TLC Weather TNT ESPN ESPN2 HDNet HDNet Movies HD Theater A&E And that's about it. I want more. If I could just figure out how to get the movie channel for a penny, I'd be signed up. Should I cancle Charter first, or wait till I get my order through Dish finished? |

which 5 premiums?
I Called DishNetwork a bit ago to compare this 24 month contract deal to my TWC 24 month contract. This package seems alot higher then what I pay now with TWC. The customer service was also terrible how they failed to explain many things including the "5 free premiums". The lady just kept mentioning how 5 free premiums are included but never told me which ones and I didn't see which ones were on the website and she didn't say anything. I explained I needed 3 TVs total, 1 HD-DVR, 1 HD-DHCT, 1 STANDARD DHCT and she said they don't do that. She said I had to get the MULTIROOM DVR which covered the 2nd standard DVR (even though I just wanted a DHCT), then a 3rd HD-DHCT but I couldn't do 2 HD-DVRs without the fee being siginifcantly larger, nor could I opt out of the multi-room DVR and just take what I have with TWC. She mentioned I am getting a discount on the HBO\SHOWTIME because how my package is setup with the multiroom DVR. *sigh* I compared with what TWC charges me monthly and asked if she would match it and even told her she could verify the package online on the website for TWC and she said they don't price match and best she could do is offer 3mo free cinemax. Bottom line, I matched up channels and decided the deal TWC offers as still better but for those that cant get the TWC deal this is an OK deal but I guess the customer service ruined it. DishNetwork DEAL 3 TVs, 1 HD w/DVR, 1 HD, 1 STANDARD w/DVR (which I didnt need but they said its included in "multiroom dvr") $40.39 --- TOP 200 (closest package comparable to what I have now) $10.00 --- HD SERVICE (or $20 for "ULTIMATE") $5.00 --- LOCAL CHANNELS $10.00 --- SHOWTIME (11 channels) $10.00 --- HBO (9 channels) $4.60 --- DVR Service Fee $5.00 --- 2nd HD receiver $5.98 --- DVR Service Fee (2nd room DVR) $ 90.97 === TOTAL (+$5.99/mo home protection fee after 9 months) ($90.97 x 9mo) + ($96.96 x 15mo) = $2273.13 - $120 service credits = $2153.13 TOTAL 24-MONTH BILL TWC's DEAL - 3 TV's 2 HD-DVR's and 1 STANDARD DHCT (which I actually only need 1 HD-DVR, 1 HD-DHCT, and 1 STD DHCT but for pricing comparison I included the add'l $9.95 fee) $49.95 --- DigiPic 1000 w/ VARIETY SERVICE (over 200 channels) w/1 DVR and 1 DHCT $FREE -- HD SERVICE (55 channels) $INCLD -- LOCAL CHANNELS $FREE -- SHOWTIME (16 channels) $FREE -- TMC (6 channels) $7.95 --- HBO (17 channels) $9.95 --- DVR service fee for 2nd dhct (which I dont need but included for comparison) $9.94 --- HD-DHCT (third box) $2.99 --- SpeedPass (includes one free PPV movie (up to $4.99) a month and SAMEDAY FREE SERVICE CALLS ... or I can OPT OUT and pay nothing and still get FREE SERVICE CALLS but maybe not SAMEDAY) $80.78/mo x 24months = $1938.72 TOTAL 24-MONTH BILL. [in my case about $1699.92 TOTAL since I didnt need the 2nd DVR service but Dish "required" it] 2 rooms are "included" but dvr is extra monthly... as is room 3 and 4 roughly $5 for DHCT or more for DVR.
