I just did a research on this card, I think it's pretty good. I'm looking for one around $150, think this 4850 is worth it?

Uh yes. It's possibly one of the best price/performance video cards ever released.

I got this same card when Best Buy had it for around the same price. Let me tell you, it absolutely rocks. You will definitely not regret it. Bang for buck is the best I have seen.

It's a good card, I've had it for 2 weeks now.
Just needs a quiet 3rd part cooler and it's good to go for OC

How much power does this consume? I'm looking into snagging one of these to replace my 8800GT 256MB.

from previous discussion.. 230W MAX.

also, if this is the same as the one last week that i ordered through newegg.. the rebate is through myrebates411.com

the problem with that is they are asking for a serial number to be cut out/submitted with the rebate. there isn't one on the box, and the only one is a sticker on the card that doesn't seem to be intended for removal.. i don't think i/we will be getting the $30 rebate.

There's no number near the bar code?

What I typically do is cut out and send anything that could be it and let them pick the one they want. It's worked for me with every rebate so far (not sure about if I've done a myrebates411.com though). Sneaky rebates...one time my rebate status was online and said they'd received it but I never got the check. About a year later I called them and they'd said they'd "switched over their systems" and misplaced my request. They finally sent it out.

myrebates411.com is VERY finicky in terms of rebates.. you need to register on their website, enter a promo code, transaction id, and then write all that stuff on the back of the envelop, etc...

no there's no S/N anywhere near or on the box.. i already cut out the barcode and am debating on just sending that in.

myrebates411.com has received bad reviews from us SD'ers and FW'ers etc...
