Thanks OP. I think this is a very good price, especially if you consider that Amazon sells a SINGLE place setting of this pattern for $17.99.

One reviewer says he got this set at Amazon for "over 70% off", which at the current retail would have been less than $21.50. Can't say I remember seeing it go THAT low, but I do know that Amazon has offered this set on Friday sales before. So if you're the gambling type...maybe in a few weeks or months it'll go lower...maybe...

you can always ask for a refund for the price difference as long as it was shipped within 30 days

I think with "over 70% off" he is referring to amazon's previous list price of this set, which was $171.50. Also as shown in a past deal posted here.

my mom has this set and just about every piece that goes with it. she doesn't like it anymore though and wants a new one. the plates get these gray scratch marks on them when you're cutting your food.

We received the entire set of these including all accessories for our wedding. Many pieces chipped and scratched very easily. The quality is amazingly poor.

Pfaltzgraff is no longer made in the USA (and the company was sold off) which may account for newer items/product lines just not holding up as well as those made years ago.

I've been using this since 2000 as my everyday dishes. I would say I have at most 3 chipped plates. They do have the gray scratches on them....but what do you expect after 8 years? I've only had issues with the dinner plates, however, they get the most use. The other peices such as the pasta bowls which I use almost as much have not shown any wear/tear. None of my accessories have had issues.

I think they are good heavy plates (stoneware) they go in the oven, microwave, etc. Its nice to cook wings and put them on a plate and stick it in the oven to keep them warm until the rest are finished. My husband even decided to put a plate on the burner eye and turn it on low to keep something hot (not the smartest idea) and aside from leaving a little brown circle on the bottom of the plate, you can't tell he left it on there for almost 10 minutes!

I love this set and would highly recommend it if you are looking for a set.
