Frys [frys.com] has 2GB (2x1GB) Crucial DDR-400 dual channel memory kit for $70 - $40 rebate [frys.com] = $30 with free shipping. Thanks BlueCrown
Fillable rebate form. Thanks jmh1 Note: DDR Memory is for older systems like the Dell Dimension 8300. Newer systems like the Dell Inspiron 530 or the Vostro 200 will not support this memory. If you only need a single 1GB stick, they also have them for $12 after $20 rebate |

How reliable are Crucial rebates.
I have an older computer and I think this is the memory I need. How do I check to ensure compatibility? |

Any comment on the dependability of rebates from Crucial? |

I picked this up about a month ago and didn't think to post it... I thought surely it would've already been posted! And to think I missed out on a Front Page credit!
I actually got this for somebody else, so I have no idea whether or not the rebate has come yet. Anyway... |

Crucial is a division of Micron, and I believe they would rather pay the rebates than destroy their reputation. This is excellent quality memory, too. Much better than the generic stuff. |

I'll vouch for Crucial's customer service. I forgot if I've done a rebate with them, but I don't recollect any negative memories regarding their rebates.
Their customer service may not be ideal, but it's still one of the best out there. I got their Ballistics DDR 500 and it kept burning out (could be RAM, mobo, PS, compatibility, etc.) even when I ran it below DDR 400 speeds. They replaced it 5-6 times until they ran out of stock a few months ago and offered me store credit instead (so I can buy their DDR 400 standard memory). Their RAM in-store is expensive though, so I've been waiting months for this deal. |

This has an odd part number for a kit CT2CP12864Z40B Crucial website lists the 2GB kit as CT2KIT12864Z40B. Newegg crucial kits all start with CT2KIT...
