My 128 Mb Lexar Media USB jump drive failed yesterday. No physical damages. It does not come up on any of the three PC I tried.

Any ideas how to recover the data or fix the drive?

I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Hmmm, that's a tough one. I would suppose something is wrong with one of the connections inside. If you can open and check, that would be great, though you would need a strong magnifying glass to do this. I doubt there is anything you can do about it though short of trying to use a similar drive and swap memory chip (this may be very hard to do, considering minituarization)

I dunno where you got your nick form, but I remember a magazine called murzilka back form the old times .

Well, actually the drive is made of transparrent plastic. So, I can see through. I am going to get the magnifying glass and check the connectors.

PS. You are right about my nick! That's where it comes from. Murzilka is a forest dwarf that travels around! By the way the magazine is still alive and murzilka is now 90+ years old Check it out:

I checked the connectors (actually I took the covers out). They are just fine. One thing that I forgot to mention is that the light does not come up either (It came up all the time when I insert it in the usb port) suggesting that this might be an elctrical problem!

do u still have warranty? cant u send it back and they fix it for no charge

Well, that's what I am trying to figure out. Mine is already more than 1 year old. So, if there was a 1 year warranty it is already gone. I just hope it had a life time I got it from buy.com Are they good with replacements/repairs?

Well, you don't have to tell them you bought it over a year ago . Tell them you lost the receipt hehe.
