Staples TEON DVD-R Rebate

Staples TEON DVD-R Rebate

I bought 2 of these spindles and registered the rebates online. However, before I send in the materials I have some concerns.

Should I send the UPC even if the rebate form that printed out at the cash register and the form that was online did not mention to include the UPC? This is new to me because I always come across rebate forms that mention you must include the UPC, one of the more important materials.

Though I registered the rebate online should I still send the rebate form that printed out at the cash register because this has the SKU number on it? But, the rebate form from registering the rebate online doesn’t have the SKU.

Lastly, on the rebate receipt it has
Card No.: XXXXXXXXXXXX5555
I don’t know if this is enough security and taking on the more cautious side I would like to black this out.

Well, I’ll be giving Staples Rebate Center a call too and see what they have to say. I’ll post if I hear anything odd.

Thank you.

I have done rebates before for Staples which did not require the UPC. I did not send them and the rebate came fine. No issues.

What I did in the past and again with this rebate is save the receipt and DO NOT open the packages. If they give you any hassles with the rebate then just return the item to Staples. Staples is very quick with their rebates so it should not be that long of a wait.

Thanks for the heads up x10.

Unfortunately, I already cut the UPC, cause I was going to send it anyways. But, I'm thinking twice about doing that since it doesn't say so. Good thing they print out rebate receipts, make it easier on us.

I've never dealt with Staples rebates and one that doesn't require UPC. Your advise/idea is a good one.

==========

Just a heads up,

I called 1-877-266-6483 and talked with a rep.

Me: Do I need to include the UPC?
Rep: Yes.
Me: Are you sure the form doesn't say so?
Rep: What's the promo number?
Me: 04-74924
Rep: Yes, you still need to include the UPC even if the form doesn't say so.

I think I will call again to see if I'll get a different answer. We still have till June 22, 2004 to postmark. (I wonder how many days we have to return. They say tech items = 14 days. Not sure if this is a tech item. I guess it kinda is.)

I dunno, maybe you might want to call and b*tch early, so they don't dealy your check.

If anybody else calls, please let us know how it goes. Thanks!

Samwise,

I had not thought about the 14 day return policy on tech items. I was thinking about my last "no upc" purchase which was a briefcase bag.

I guess I am going to send without the UPC and if they give me a hassel then I will walk to Staples and discuss with manager. They are usually very good with these items.

Thanks

i've never had a problem with any of the 200+ rebates i've sent in from any store (mostly OM, BB, CC, Amazon). if they ever "reject" one, i give them a call, and they correct it on the spot without a single question. if the form says no UPC is required, and you have that in writing, that outweighs an anonymous CS rep 7 days a week. if they reject it, call and they'll honor it, i guarantee it.

Actually, the form doesn't even say no UPC required, and it mentions nothing about the UPC.

I wonder how many days we have to return.QUOTE]

I bought 12 packs of the Imation/Ritek DVD- and +r's in Jan for $9.94. I never used the first one, as I've been lucky and getting all my blank DVDrs FAR one way or another. I returned them 3 weeks ago with receipt. I got all my $$ back plus the $ for the coupon. On the flip side for Staples, they are selling for $20 a 10 pack so they were happy to take them back, and apologized to me for them not working out for me. Of course I always bring out the best in customer service peeps.

So I'd worry little about your return.

Eric

I called Staples rebate center a second time and this rep said I should at least send in copies of the UPC.

That's what I have done (printed them out in color too) and I included a letter stating that the form doesn't mention anything about the UPC and that I called Staples rebate center about it and that's what they told me to do to send in a copy.

Well, hopefully things will work out the best for everyone. And if you haven't sent yours in yet, I say at least send in copies of your UPC too and perhaps include a letter to make it easier for the people handling the rebate.

Too bad I already cut my UPC out, but I just didn't want to send in the original. So the rep had good advice.

Well I finally gave in. Ripped open two envelopes and placed the UPC symbols inside. I asked the "wife" and went with her decision. She said, "better do it to be safe". Always listen to the wife.......... she knows best.

I still think Staples would have honored the rebate without the UPC sysmbols.

Received a check today for $10 for a DVD+R spindle.

But, I bought two DVD-R spindles. And the promotion did say limit 2 rebates. Hopefully, they'll send another $10 check, and not jack me around. I am concerned because usually it's just one check with a total amount of individual rebates.

I received two checks on the same day. Check in the mail again tomorrow, you can also check the status here, http://www.rebateshq.com/weblogic...rackRebate and see if they issued both checks on the same day.

GiddyUp15, yeah, I checked the website. One said they mailed the check, the other said awaiting proper document. What's the difference? I sent them at the same time in the same envelope. Not sure what the heck's going on. Called them up, automated response. Will probably wait some days, and call again and hopefully talk with live a person.

Samwise Gamgee, I think you should have sent the rebate forms in 2 different envelopes. Maybe that is why it still says awaiting proper documentation.
