Question How to get rid of a nasty curry smell

A good bud of mine is moving into a place temporarily. Anyways, the place as it is right now has a very strong curry smell (strong enough to burn your nose hairs if you ask me). The apt complex claims the carpet cleaners will set off some "bomb" thing that will get rid of the smell. Well, he is worried that the smell will still linger when he moves in. So does anyone know of any good odor neutralizer, techniques, etc that will get rid of any offensive curry odors remaining?

I don't know. But I'm eager to see what the answer is. I moved into my freind's place for the summer. He moved in last August after a family of turkish ppl lived here for a few years, I can still smell it every time I walk in the front door. powerful stuff. someone I know had to move out of an apt that was down the hall from indian ppl because the smell of their cooking was so strong.
